Weekly Update – 4/3/2017

This wasn’t a great workout week, but it was a really nice week otherwise.  I had some great quality time with Michael and got out of the house and had a blast.

Monday

Decided that since it was warmer weather out, we’d get in 2 miles outside.  We walked around my mom’s neighborhood (its a mile around).

Tuesday

Got in 2 miles on the treadmill.

Wednesday

I was exhausted from a long day on Wednesday and wasn’t feeling well, so I decided to skip yoga.

Thursday

We had our date night on Thursday and watched a movie on Netflix.

Friday

We had a showing on Friday night, so we got out of the house and went to Mexican.

Saturday

On Saturday, we had to be out of the house for a few showings, so we decided to drive up to Richmond and get our rings cleaned and get some lunch.  We found a cool place called Supper! and had some great salads.

We came home in the early afternoon, and then went out to Mermaid Winery with some friends and had a great night.

Sunday

After church on Sunday, we grabbed some lunch and did our grocery shopping.  We stopped by the house to measure for a fridge and got to see the progress.  We then went to Home Depot and bought said fridge!

We also had to file a police report because someone decided to shoot a BB gun through my taillight.

How was your week? Do you like going to wineries?

Weekly Update – 2/6/2017

While this wasn’t a fantastic week for working out, I felt like I did a lot better with work/life balance and making sure to practice self-care. I’ve found it to be really important to listen to my body recently.

Monday

On Monday, I planned a rest day due to having the race the day before.  I normally take a rest day on Sunday, but decided to shift everything over.

Tuesday

On Tuesday, we hit up the gym and I got a quick 2 miles in on the treadmill.  We planned for a bit longer at the gym, but ran into some new house issues and had to go meet with the builder.

Wednesday

I was so incredibly exhausted on Wednesday.  Its normally yoga day for me, but I couldn’t even think about anything other than a giant nap all afternoon.  I came home and relaxed all night and went to bed really early.

Thursday

We had our normal date night on Thursday night.  We made the mistake of  having Arby’s for dinner and regretted it, as both of us ended up with upset stomachs.  Not that we needed to be told that fast food is bad for you…

Friday

On Friday, we had another night at home.  We’ve become quite the homebodies.  We watched a weird movie on Netflix (what other kind is there?)

Saturday

On Saturday we got up and went to the gym.  I got in 2 miles on the treadmill. We spend the rest of the day with my mom and stepdad.  We walked through the new house, spent some time enjoying the nice weather, and went out to dinner.  I had the best Caesar salad that made my breath smell like garlic through Sunday!

Sunday

On Sunday we got to sleep in a little bit, as we were trying out a new church that didn’t start until 11.  After church, we came home and did a bunch of chores.  We even finally cleaned the cars.  Since the weather was unseasonably warm (set a new record at 81 degrees!), we decided to go for a 2 mile walk around my mom’s neighborhood and stopped at Starbucks for a nice cold iced coffee.

How was your weekend? Did you have warmer weather this weekend like we did in VA?

Weekly Update – 8/15/2016

I managed to get 3 workouts in this week, which trust me, doesn’t sound like a lot, but is a little victory for me.  It has been hard to be motivated when I don’t see any results, but now I’m starting to see them, which has been encouraging.

Monday

I went home after work, did some cleaning and organizing and then jumped on the treadmill to walk 2.25 miles.  I started watching Season 1 of One Tree Hill.  I figured that would be a good motivator for me to get on the ‘mill and get some miles in.

Tuesday

Got in another 2.25 miles on the treadmill while watching One Tree Hill.

Wednesday

I needed a rest day on Wednesday.  Work has been crazy!

Thursday

Got in my last 2.25 miles for the week on the treadmill while watching One Tree Hill.  Thursday was absolutely insane at work.  I can’t wait for Vegas.

Friday

I worked from home on Friday.  I just needed to be away from the work building.  I managed to get a lot of work done.  My mom has been helping us with some painting, so she was over working on that.  She got to see a little taste of what it is I do…every time I got a phone call, etc.  I think its really neat for her to actually hear/see what I do!

After work, I went and spent time with my stepsister, my nephew and her mother-in-law.  They were staying at my mom’s for the weekend.

Saturday

Michael had been out of town since Thursday afternoon for work, and came back on Saturday.  We had a pretty lazy day, just vegged out and watched Netflix, complete with homemade airpopped popcorn.

Mom is having a yard sale next weekend, so we went over to bring her more stuff and help her price.  We picked up some chopped salads from Taste Unlimited for dinner and spent time with her and Ken and the baby! I love that kid so much.

Sunday

We had church responsibilities on Sunday, then did our normal chores afterward.  Despite all the work we did, it still felt like a relaxing day.

 How was your week?

Weekly Update – 8/8/2016

You may have noticed that I skipped a few weekly updates.  Oops! Life got in the way and I didn’t do a whole lot of working out or anything, so didn’t feel the need to post much!  We did go on a vacation to Atlantic City for a few days and it was a great getaway.  I did a TON of walking, which lord knows I needed due to all that yummy food I ate.

Monday

Walked 2.6 miles after work on the treadmill at home.  I just didn’t feel like yoga, I had too much energy.  I turned on Eddie and the Cruisers and rocked out while I walked.

Tuesday

Walked 2 miles on the treadmill.  Finished Eddie and the Cruisers 🙂

Wednesday

Skipped a workout on Wednesday because I was just mentally drained. It was a rough day at work.  I’ve had quite a few of those lately.  Ready for this season of busyness to be over.

Thursday

On Thursday, I came home and got some cleaning out and organizing done at the house. We are trying to get rid of stuff in preparation for packing up a lot of our clutter so we can show our house for selling.

Friday

On Friday, we had Mexican with my brother in law.  I had a hankering for tacos.

Saturday

On Saturday I had my husband wake me up early (he normally tiptoes around and lets me sleep in on Saturday).  I had to get the yard done before it got too hot (its been in the high 90s here with heat indexes up to 107).  We have a small townhome and therefore a small yard, but I still managed to get 17 bug bites THROUGH MY CLOTHES in the short time I was out there.

After I got cleaned up and had my coffee and breakfast, we went clothes shopping.  We are going to Vegas soon and I need to have enough clothes for the trip.  I only own one pair of “nice” shorts…all the rest are workout shorts.

After that, we spent 3 hours with the builder trying to finish our selections for our house.  We celebrated our hugely successful day with some Chinese food while we watched COPS.  Nerd alert.

Sunday

On Sunday, we had church responsibilities, then I went to Target to spend all my money on all the makeup while Michael went grocery shopping.  We did our normal food prep, cleaning and laundry.

How have things been for everyone?! I miss you guys!

Weekly Update – 6/6/2016

This past week was a weird week.  The funeral was difficult.  Life is crazy busy right now, some things I talk about here, some things I’m not ready to share yet.  I know that work tends to be crazy for a lot of people, so I don’t pretend that my situation is any more difficult than anyone else’s.  We are just in a crazy season right now.  My bank has acquired another bank, and we are converting them over in less than 2 weeks.

Monday

Monday was an odd day.  After such a joyful weekend, it was hard to go back to work.  Monday was also Stephanie’s funeral.  It was such a wonderful celebration of her life, but still a very emotionally difficult day.  Traffic was bad coming back from the funeral and I missed yoga.

Tuesday

I was supposed to get my haircut on Saturday, but my hairdresser called on Monday and asked if I was free Tuesday night.  Heck yes! It was time for the long messy hair to go!

I should have taken a before and after picture, but here is a recent picture with the long hair…and then the short!

Wednesday

I ended up working way late on a project at work and missed yoga class.  I did get a lot of housework done instead though!

Thursday

Thursday was a really rough day at work.  We came home, got changed, and went for a 2 mile walk in my mom’s neighborhood.  We ended up staying for dinner and spending time with my mom and stepdad, which was really wonderful.

Friday

On Friday, we spent time with my Aunt Donna and her friend Bob.  They came down to visit and to use their green thumbs to help whip our front flower bed into shape!  It looks amazing.

I wish I had a “before” picture!

Saturday

On Saturday, I slept in while Michael went out for a run (!!!!) He ran some errands while I got some laundry done.  We got Mexican food for lunch, then went out for Coldstone ice cream.  We ate bad on Saturday!  Then we went for a drive, and looked and some of the huge homes in the nice neighborhoods around us.

Sunday

We had church responsibilities on Sunday.  Michael came home and took a nap, while I was a lazy bum.  He went out to get indian food with his brother.  It was a very nice, relaxing day.

How was your week? Do you have a green thumb?

Weekly Update – 5/23/2016

This week was ok.  I was able to get in a yoga session, walk, and 5k.  I was able to enjoy the long three day weekend, which will be the longest break we’ll get in awhile (big work project coming up in June).

Monday

I finally got back to yoga after about almost a month of being gone.  Class was a little tough in that regard, but I think I held my own pretty well.  She’s gotten better about ending class on time, which I really appreciate.  Its already a 75 minute class, and she used to regularly go to 90 minutes.

Tuesday

The weather was amazing on Tuesday!  Michael and I opted to go for about a 3 mile walk around my mom’s neighborhood.  We like to go walk there because its a giant loop.

Wednesday

Michael plays table tennis on Monday and Wednesday nights.  He’s been asking me to watch him play for some time now, so on Wednesday, I went with him.  The club was made up of a variety of people of different ages and backgrounds.  It was a very enjoyable time.

Thursday

I had a really long day at work on Thursday, and crashed on the couch when I got home.  No gym for me!

Friday

On Friday we went out to dinner with my dad, stepmom, stepsister and brother in law.  It was a nice time.

Saturday

Chickfila 5k! Recap to come!

After the race, we went to visit some friends of ours from church.  Our friend Chris has been experiencing issues with kidney stones for a few weeks now and its hard for him to get out an about because he’s in a lot of pain. We spend a lot of the rest of the day vegging out.

Sunday

On Sunday we had church responsibilities, then we went down to the oceanfront to have an early dinner with my mom and stepdad.  We went to a great place called Waterman’s, and we drank orange crushes and ate great seafood.

It had rained on and off all day, then gave us this beautiful rainbow.
