September 2016 Stitch Fix Review (Stitch Fix #22)

I say this every time: I know this is outside of my normal fitness/running blogging, but hey – its my blog, and I want to blog about my awesome clothes!

Here’s how it works: You set up a style profile and you receive a box with 5 items in it.  You can choose the frequency with which you set up the box …once a month, every other month, etc.  You pay $20 to receive a box.  If you keep anything, that $20 goes toward your purchase.  If you keep all 5 items, you get a discount!  They send you anything from jewelry, to clothes to handbags. They’ve even added SHOES to the mix! If you don’t want to keep an item, they have an envelope to send them back.

What I love about this is that I get a stylist that looks at my style profile and picks out items just for ME.  You can even link to a pinterest board so they can get inspiration and a better look into what you like.

*Sorry for the awful sideways pictures.  I kept fighting with WordPress and it was not letting me rotate them!

Item Number 1 –  Franco Sarto Edaline Ankle Strap Bootie ($149)

Sorry, no picture!

I had specifically asked my stylist for some cute fall booties, and she didn’t disappoint! These were exactly what I had in mind.  However, the heel was a little high on them, and I really couldn’t see myself being comfortable wearing them.

Verdict: Return

Item Number 2 – Pixley Ashton Crochet Lace Kimono ($48)

I hadn’t even told my stylist I wanted a kimono and she read my mind! I had something a little different in mind, but this kimono was still very cool.  I ended up keeping it, but haven’t worn it yet.  I can’t seem to find an occasion to wear it (can’t wear to work).

Verdict: Keep

Item Number 3 – Market & Spruce Colibri Plaid Henley Top ($48)

This shirt is me.  My husband loved it on me, so it was a no brainer to keep.  How can you go wrong with plaid in the fall??

Verdict: Keep

Item Number 4 –  Kut from the Kloth Simmon Bootcut Jean ($88)

These felt so SOFT. However, they were WAY too long and were a little snug.

Verdict: Return

Item Number 5 –  41 Hawthorn Sena Bar Back Blouse ($58)

The color of this top is amazing.  However, there was a small pleat in the front.  For a busty girl like me, it ended up being unflattering.

Verdict: Return

Overall Impression

Sizing was pretty good this time, but just didn’t love all the pieces.  My bank account thanks me for that!

Can’t wait to see what I get next time! I’ve asked for a “fall” fix!

I’m still alive!

Hey guys! I know I’ve been MIA for awhile.  We took a vacation to Vegas (yay!) and life has been crazy since we got back with work, new house stuff, current house stuff, etc.

Here’s a few updates to play catchup!

New House

We have a ratified contract.  Everything is DONE and decided.  Now we just wait for them to break ground, which will probably be in December.

Current House

My mom helped us out by doing a lot of painting.  We had her paint trim work, a bathroom, and help us do some deep cleaning.  The plan was to get a storage unit this month to start putting away some of the clutter so we can show the house and people will actually want to buy it.

We found out this past week that we need a new roof.  We had some heavy rains and we found a massive leak we didn’t know we had.  We have hired someone to do it, just waiting for some good weather to get it done!  We’ve decided to hire a home inspector to see if we can find any other hidden surprises.

I got a raise! I have added a lot of responsibility over the past few years and my salary has never really caught up.  I’m very thankful and its put a little extra pep in my step.  But work has still be stressful and in a period of flux as we adjust to bringing in an acquired company and new leadership.

I’ll probably do another post about this, but we had a BLAST in Vegas.  Lots of fun, and the west coast has a completely different landscape!

Running/Working Out

So….this is a blog most devoted to running and working out….two things I’ve been doing VERY little of.  I’ve been pretty inconsistent since June and our big work merger, but it really took a dive after Vegas.  However, we’ve had a lot of “life” going on, and its been important to focus on our family, our home, etc.

But! I have a 5k on Saturday.  I will be probably just walk most of it, maybe dabble in a little jogging, but no need to hurt myself when I know I’ve not been working out much at all.

I miss you guys! I’ll be stalking you guys to catch up on what I’ve missed – but leave me a comment and let me know how you are doing!
