Finally got back to the gym three times this week and it was wonderful! I realize that my stress levels are so much better when I consistently work out 🙂
Finally made it back to yoga class! It was a little tough to come back after so much time off, but felt really good to get back to my practice and back to a routine.
Gym for the second night in a row! Score! Just did a quick 1.25 mile walk on the treadmill. No need to rush into anything…
Back to yoga on Wednesday. My hamstrings had gotten very tight and they got a good stretching this class.
On Thursday we went to my mom’s house for dinner to visit with some family that was in town from PA. As a special surprise, we got to also see my brother in law and my nephew.
On Friday, we just got some Chinese food for dinner and watched COPS. We lead such exciting lives, I know.
On Saturday, Michael let me sleep in and he did the yard! (Normally my responsibility) I slept through the whole thing, didn’t even hear him do it. It was such a nice surprise. We bummed around in the morning, then went to the Virginia Aquarium! I haven’t been since I was a kid, and it was a nice thing to do on such a hot day! I’m ptetty sure it was literally 1oo degrees on Saturday.
After church on Sunday, we did our chores for the week, but also got in some good R&R.
How was your week? When was the last time you went to an aquarium?
I decided to lump two weeks together because honestly, not a lot happened that was of note, and I figured I’d just put it all together! Being on vacation also throws a wrench in your blogging plans too….
I already talked about Monday in last week’s post.
It was hard to come back to work on Tuesday after a nice long weekend that followed our crazy work weeks. After work I headed to Kohl’s to try to find a new bathing suit for the beach. I realized that I have been wearing the same suits for the last 4 years now…they are getting very worn out! I found a nice Nike 2 piece suit (I like some more coverage than the average suit).
After work on Wednesday I went to visit my mom. She’s watching my nephew for a few days and I got to soak up some time with him and his huge cheeks!
On Thursday, I brought mom dinner and helped her bake 3 batches of cookies. Spent even more time with my nephew and it was a blast.
Friday – Wednesday
Friday night was spent doing laundry, packing and getting ready to go to the beach. On Saturday we left to go to Nags Head for a few days with my mom and stepdad’s family.
Saturday through Wednesday were spent at the beach. Here’s a few pictures of our time there…notice they are pretty much all of my nephew!
Thursday – Friday
On Thursday and Friday it was back to work as normal. Its so rough to go back to work after a vacation!
On Saturday, Michael went to Dover to do a little gambling. He came back with $700. I spent my day completely lazy, catching up on shows on my DVR, doing a puzzle, etc.
On Sunday it was nice to get to back to church. We did chores afterwards and all of our food prep for the week.
How have the last few weeks been for you? Have you had a summer vacation yet?
I can sum up this past week in one word: WORK. After our big conversion weekend, we had a lot of immediate cleanup to do, not to mention the work to come over the coming months. By Friday, I had worked 12 days straight…all 10 hour days or more. That catches up with you pretty quickly, and I was exhausted by the end of the week.
We did get to enjoy the Fourth of July weekend though. We got to catch back up with family, watch a ton of Netflix, do laundry, clean the house, get groceries, etc. I feel like we are starting to get back to normal again.
I can’t wait to start catching up with you guys again, I feel like its been ages since I’ve been able to see what’s going on in your lives!
How was your weekend? How did you celebrate the 4th?
